The meeting was called to order at 10:03 AM.

The minutes from the April 21, 2022, meeting were approved.

August 2021 – January 2022 and March 2022 minutes have been posted to the blog.

The organization’s total assets as of 5/19/2022 equal $4,329.78. Checks from organizations sponsoring the spring 2022 program have cleared and the PayPal deposit is also included. Some funds will be used to pay for the spring 2022 program speaker thank you gifts. The ACRL DVC membership drive comes at the end of June. 

Registration for the free June event “Healing in Nature,” which is the final part of the spring 2022 program, is live.

Nick Cunningham will serve as webmaster during Karen Sheldon’s absence from July through September 2022.

Brendan reached out to new members about features, speaking to a collections librarian about a feature.

The meeting was called to order at 10:05 AM.

The minutes from the March 17, 2022 meeting were approved.

New board members were announced: Theresa Hessey, Digital Collections Librarian at University of Delaware, is the incoming Board Secretary and Nick Cunningham, Public Services & Student Engagement Librarian at Muhlenberg College, is the incoming Vice President/President-Elect.

The organization’s total account balance equals $4,359.71, which includes funding from the Associated College Libraries of Pennsylvania and the Delaware Library Association to compensate speakers at the spring program.

General updates and action item follow ups

  • The membership page has been updated to include library workers in free membership.
  • Relationships with Drexel iSchool professors will be established at the end of May to promote the spring program and student memberships. Student membership information will also be promoted on the ACRL DVC blog.
  • Streamlining electronic communication and access to electronic documents continues.
  • Planning for the June event continues.

ACRL DVC broke $2,500 in assets.

General updates and action item follow ups

  • Ideas for encouraging folks to renew or join ACRL DVC were discussed.
  • No applications have been received for student stipends.
  • There aren’t any candidates for ACRL DVC Board Treasurer.
  • Proposals have been received for the spring 2022 program.
  • The May 20 event will feature a virtual keynote address from Feminist Healing Coach, Writer, and Library Advocate Nisha Mody on “how we can become more trauma-informed in libraries by shifting toward a relational approach rather than a transactional one. She will address the questions: What forces subconsciously take us away from being relational? How can we be more relational leaders and colleagues as well as with patrons and ourselves? How does being relational reframe urgency along with other characteristics of white supremacy culture?”

Old business

  • No additional changes were identified for the ACRL DVC website menu bar overhaul.
  • Drafting a land acknowledgement will be revisited in July pending consultation with experts.
  • Guiding questions were posted to the website and will also be shared via a blog post.
  • A password management system trial is forthcoming.

The meeting was called to order at 9:06 AM.

The minutes of the October 21 and November 18 board meeting were approved.

General updates and action item follow ups

  • Fall 2021 program recording and meeting notes have been posted to the ACRL DVC website.
  • ACRL DVC board meetings will be held on the third Thursday of the month at 10 AM Eastern Time through May 2022.
  • Student stipend application was extended to March 21, 2022.
  • The Spring Program will consist of 2-3 events over the course of the spring: 
    • April – Asynchronous presentations hosted on YouTube with a live place for discussion a la Fall 2021.
    • May – Virtual keynote aligned with guiding questions. Student stipend winners will be announced. 
    • June – Face-to-face event in an outdoor natural setting with a social element connected to wellness work

The nominations timeline was shared.

Community liaison committee held a meeting of local library organizations to discuss how to support communities, PaLA funding, and ideas for collaboration.

ACRL DVC has $2,457.84 in assets.

Information about the third round of Pennsylvania Grants for Open and Affordable Learning (PA GOAL) will be shared with ACRL DVC listserv subscribers.
